Meet the Trainer
My name is Elley, I am an experienced K9 handler, trainer, and behavior consultant. My goal is to provide people & dogs with the skills they need to be successful, and to create opportunities for dogs to engage in enriching, fulfilling experiences that lead to improved overall quality of life.
My background knowledge of dog body language and understanding of how to utilize communication-based training to foster mutual respect & trust has led me to be successful helping owners resolve behavior problems and build stronger relationships with their dogs. Training is a bridge for owner-dog communication; it allows us to teach skills, build behaviors, and create secure, confident dogs.
Mina is the dog who taught me the most on how dogs communicate, the cues they offer each other and us, how they help each other regulate, and the benefits of social learning. She also taught me the value and importance in creating engagement and giving dogs fulfillment. She is a mix of guard and herd breeds who loves to train and work, has a strong drive, and is very intelligent and sweet.
Kasper is my half Dutch Shepherd, half Belgian Malinois. He lived on the streets of Georgia for a year, then came to me with male aggression, a bite history, and some trauma to work through. He has taught me a lot about fear-based aggression, listening to your dog’s cues, and how to effectively utilize management as a tool to create behavior change. He lives to train and work, has a strong drive, and is very intelligent and menacing.
